Yorba Linda is an affluent suburban community in northeastern Orange County, California, approximately 13 miles northeast of Downtown Santa Ana, and 40 miles southeast of Downtown Los Angeles. It is often identified as the richest city in the U.S. by the U.S. Census Bureau that shows a median household income of $121,075, higher than any other city.
The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is therefore probably the most well-known and visited site in the city. It is known for having large residential lots as well as 30 horse trails, which are 100 miles in aggregate length. In 2005 CNN ranked Yorba Linda 21st among the best places in the U.S. to live.
Yorba Linda is part of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. This district is home to nearly 28,000 students. Several schools in the district have received the California Distinguished School award.
